My friend and former co-worker has started blogging. He started a technology company named Hybrid Technology and Training Partners (HTTP for short) after leaving The Solutions Group where we both worked. So far, most, if not all of his posts are about the daily activities and growth of his business. I read nearly all of the posts today and I have to say it was pretty interesting. It doesn't hurt that Jeff has an incredible vocabulary and is quite the wordsmith.

Anyway, Jeff does some great work and will treat you right. You should give him a call if you have computer problems. And don't forget to check out his blog and company web site!

http://hybridtraining.net and http://salinehttpblog.blogspot.com

I suck at blogging

I go to my blog almost if not every day to click the links to other blogs that I read. Yeah, I use an aggregator too but I really like going to the blogs themselves. I don't know why, I just do. Anyway, I noticed tonight that my archives go back three years. It's actually 3 years and 3 months. I also noticed that I have a measly 146 posts. One hundred forty six posts in approximately 1185 days. Hence the title of this post.

I want to do better. Not to increase the number of posts. But because of something my daughter Kari said to me. I was telling her one day that I didn't post a lot because I felt conscious about other people reading my posts. She said that I shouldn't because they're not for other people. They're for me. They're for me to record the events of my life. Pretty smart girl that Kari is.

So that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to record the events of my life. I've already missed a huge one in the last couple of months! We've bought a new house! And I haven't written a thing or posted a single picture. See? I suck at blogging. Let's see if we can change that.

I've blogged about it before, but I still think TwitterVision is very cool. The bad thing is, it depresses me. It reinforces my belief that I'm on the outside looking in.

Ramblings

- I can't believe it's August 1st already. The summer is half over. College football will be starting in roughly 3 weeks. We'll have 6 weeks of awesome fall weather and then the shit hits the fan. Six months of shitty weather. Sigh.

- I'm working on a project that could potentially change my life. I really think that. But for some reason, I just can't get myself to focus and really get some work done. I'm sure it's because after spending eight FULL hours writing code at work, it's hard to come home and write more code. I have to do it though because I really need to get this project done. It could very well be the answer I've been looking for.

- I'm going to go to the gym tomorrow with Jamie. That's a good thing. A very good thing. For the both of us. We need to keep it up.

- Gayla and I frequent a local bar for dinner a couple nights a week. We like to go and sit at the bar rather than sitting at a table. Tonight we went and the bartender, who is not new and has been there for a while, seemed like she was in a bad mood. She came right over quick enough and brought us a couple beers and asked if we were going to eat. We said yes and expected to get some menus (I know. What do we need menus for if we go there a couple times a week). She never came back. Never brought the menus. Never asked us what we wanted to eat. Nothing. Gayla had her Club Keno slips out to be played and she wouldn't even help us out with them. We were there at least 20 minutes. Hell, we finished a beer! We've always been good tippers making sure that we leave at least 20%. Weird. So we did something that we've never done before. We drank up our beers and left. We did pay for the beer but we did not leave a tip. The bill was $5.94 and we left $6.00. I feel really crappy about it but it pissed me off.

The Bagroom Blog is Back

For the first 21 years of my working life, I worked as a baggage handler for North Central/Republic/Northwest Airlines in good ole DTW. I have to say, it's not a nice place to work. There are however, some really great people that work there that are still putting up with the day to day nonsense. One of the ways they deal with the all the bullshit is to make fun of it. Way back before computers there was a newsletter titled the "Bagroom Blab". The writers were very clever and funny and it really was an entertaining read. They've now started the Bagroom Blog and I am very happy to host it for them. You should check it out.

http://blogs.bigkspub.com/bagroomblog/default.aspx

I was just checking who's been coming to my blog via referrals and I can't believe the number of hits I've gotten because of this post. All because I used the “a” word and the “p” word. Apparently there's a lot of people searching for porn on the net. Imagine that. Oops!
